If you’re about to start playing Eternights, these tips and tricks will help you.
Eternights is a short game about managing your time and dating, and you can use these features to make your character stronger in battle. Getting through the whole game will take around ten hours, but there is some information you should remember to make the most of your time and avoid having to keep loading your saves.
The game is short, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. The fighting can be hard all the way to the end, and if you didn’t pay attention, it might even feel impossible to beat. What should you know before you go?
Match Your Love Interest To Your Playstyle
In Eternights, you can choose from four different love interests. If you stick with just one, you will get the best finish. Every character can still get pretty high in rank even if you don’t romance them, but the character you choose to romance is likely to be the one with the most skills.
If you’re dating Yuna, you should focus on using skills. If you’re dating Sia, you should play more offensively. And if you’re dating Min, your character will get more defense buffs. This doesn’t bother Yohan as much because he is more grounded.
Hunt Down Hidden Black Essence
The settings in Eternights are mostly straight lines, which should make it easy to find secret areas. However, the creative lighting can make this harder than you think. You’re more likely to find secret black essence if you look around. You can use it to improve the heroes’ skills and some of Yohan’s as well.
Since these are the skills that will help your character in battle, keeping an eye on them when you explore will help you level up a bit faster than normal each time.
Chani Isn’t A Love Interest
Chani, your character’s best friend, is the first person you meet and talk to in Eternights. She is a very likeable character, and you’ll probably grow to like her as the game goes on. If you want to level him up, you can, but unlike the other characters, it doesn’t go past level five and never gets emotional.
You could play with him every once in a while, but it never goes anywhere, so he’s the only person you can date for fun. At the beginning of Act 4, you will be able to spend time with Yohan if you are looking for a male dating choice.
Dialogue Options Don’t Matter As Much When Flirting
When you date in other dating sims, you probably put a lot of thought into which character you choose, but in Eternights, this isn’t as important. If you want to level up your friendship with someone, the best thing you can do is spend more time with them.
To romance each character, you will need to reach level 3 in their stat. To romance them at rank 6, you will need to reach level 4, and to romance them at rank 7. These stats are changed by the conversation choices, so pay more attention to these.
Use Time Strategically
One thing that makes Eternights stand out is the time management system that tells you how long you have to spend with each character and improve your skills before you have to face enemies and levels.
You should plan how you spend this time because it has a direct effect on how well you can level up skills and date different characters. Getting the skills you want in Acts 2 and 3 is better than getting Yohan until Act 4, so if you want to date him, you should focus on those first.
Level Up Yuna’s Healing
And even if you don’t want Yuna to be your love interest, she still has some of the best skills. Most of her skill trees are focused on healing. As soon as possible, you should level up her skills so that you always have health, since checkpoints can be very cruel in some parts of Drive Mad.
In order for Yuna to heal well, you should also try to increase your SP as much as possible. This will let Yuna use more of her healing spells with the SP she has left. Even if Yuna has other useful skills, make sure her healing is good enough.
Use Chani’s Services
When you get to Act 4, you’ll probably be able to date the people you’ve been dating up until now. Here is where all your hard work on your social skills will finally pay off, but if you didn’t know this, you might not be ready.
For each character, you need at least level 3 of each stat to get them to rank 6. Yuna wants to express herself, Sia wants to be accepted, Min wants to feel confident, and Yohan wants to be brave. You can spend time with Chani to catch up if you’re behind. Each visit with him gives you six points toward a number you need.
Attempt The Dungeon Early
It’s best to try the dungeon and its boss as soon as you unlock it if you want to have a less stressful experience with Eternights. This way, you’ll know what you’re up against, and if you beat it on the first day, you can relax and spend the rest of the time focusing on your relationships and improving your stats.
You might have trouble with some parts, but if you try the task early, you can level up the stats and skills you need and then try it again closer to the due date.
