Carefully choose how to improve Saga’s weapons in Alan Wake 2!
In Alan Wake 2, Saga’s upgrades are harder to find and cost more than Alan’s, but each one can greatly increase your chances of surviving a certain battle. To unlock them, you have to find lunch boxes hidden around Bright Falls and its surroundings. This means you’ll have to search a lot if you want Saga to be fully loaded to fight the Cult of the Tree.
Even if you find every lunch box, you’ll still have to pick between upgrades as you get the pieces you need to open them. We’ve ranked all the upgrades for weapons to help you pick the right ones.
Pull The String
The Crossbow is the only weapon in the game that can dispose of a Taken with a single headshot, making it the most powerful single-shot weapon in the game. But you have to keep your aim steady, and it’s not great for fighting close up.
Pull Each bolt can do more with the String, but it slows down the shooting speed. On the other hand, if you can get a good shot with the crossbow, you can probably destroy your target with just one hit.
Way Home
There is an extra gun called the Hunting Rifle in the Wellness Center at the Nursing Home that you can use if you want to. It works great when you’re exploring the woods because you can get the drop on Taken from far away before they notice you.
Way Home makes the Hunting Rifle a little more dangerous by letting it go through Darkness Shields. Even though this will save you lighting batteries, this tool is generally used to aim for the head, which isn’t normally covered.
Way Home is most useful when you’re out of other types of ammunition and need to eliminate an enemy who is protected in any way possible.
Another Headshot
The Taken are so strong that even a bullet to the head won’t hurt them unless you weaken them first. Headshots are a common way to survive in horror games, and this power makes sure that if a double-tap fails to eliminate a threat, it can at least stun them while you take cover.
There are times when Another Headshot is useful, but to make it worth the twelve pieces it costs to open, you’ll also need to get Out Of Action and Again And Again. That costs a lot of money and requires a lot of moving between weapons when a few more rounds might work just as well.
Out Of Action
As you might expect, the Shotgun does a lot of damage up close. You can make the hit from Out Of Action even stronger by taking out your target first.
Weak enemies can often be stunned by a shotgun blast close up. You can also blind them with the flashlight or Hand Flares. If an enemy comes at you, making a last-second dodge will knock them out.
Like Pull The String, Out Of Action is too strong; if an enemy has any of the conditions that would make the ability work, you probably won’t need the help to eliminate them.
Again And Again
Everything you find in Alan Wake 2 is valuable, just like in other survival horror games. When you miss, you not only lose a bullet, but it also gives the Taken a chance to rush you and hurt you.
If you have trouble keeping your aim when you’re under a lot of stress, getting “Again and Again” can help you because it gives Saga’s service gun a burst-fire mode. On the plus side, automatic fire will give you a better chance of stopping a charging enemy. On the minus side, you’ll run out of bullets much faster in a game where having an empty clip is very, very dangerous.
It is best to use Again and Again with other improvements, like Another Headshot and Magnetic Pull.
Faster And Faster
What could be better than firing a Pistol at a crowd of people? The same thing, but this time with a shotgun!
You should not stay close to elite enemies like the Mirror and Hammer Taken for long. They can take a lot of damage. With Faster And Faster, you can quickly fire six shells at them from close range and avoid their response, if they’re still living enough to make one.
Two Shots
The crossbow is very powerful, but it is very hard to reload. Saga has to stand still while it works, which makes it even slower.
If you shoot the Crossbow again before it runs out of bullets, you won’t have to leave yourself open while you reload it. This works best with Magnetic Pull to give Saga a good start when facing groups or tough enemies.
Feedback Loop
Switch to the Hunting Rifle as soon as you hear a group of Taken nearby. Try to dispatch them before they get close enough to fight you. You can eliminate a lot of enemies with Feedback Loop without putting Saga in real danger.
When combined with Kill Shot, Feedback Loop lets you quickly hit multiple targets with headshots or Source Point attacks, which saves both health and ammo.
Under Control
The best weapon in Saga is without a doubt the Pump Action Shotgun, which you can’t get until Return 6.It gives you power and the ability to move quickly, and since most fights happen close, its short range doesn’t really matter.
You can close in on your enemy and eliminate them before they can react if you can move faster in Doodle Jump. This is true whether you’re trying to stop a pack of wolves or avoid gunfire while facing a group of Taken.
Fluid Motion
Even though the Shotgun has many benefits, it can be hard to use because you can only fire two shots at a time. Fluid Motion speeds up the reload of your weapon, which lets you get back to fighting faster.
You’ll save a lot of time with Fluid Motion, which is especially helpful when you’re fighting wolves because you can always heal in between their quick hits. It can also save your life if you run out of pistol bullets and have to use the shotgun to finish the battle.
Magnetic Pull
Let’s make the most of the fact that the Dark Presence is changing the rules of reality! Thanks to this improvement, you can shoot an enemy with the Crossbow and then switch to the Pistol for better aim.
The Crossbow does a lot of damage at first, and you can get the bolt back after the battle. Magnetic Pull is a great way to start a fight, especially against monsters that are hard to destroy. Break their Darkness Shield and then shoot them in the chest with the crossbow. Then fire away with the pistol!
Stay On Course
Many times in Alan Wake 2, furious Taken will charge at you, but a shotgun blast from close range will usually stop the attack. Even though it was a terrible blow, Most Taken will get back up.
Stay On Course makes it much more likely that if you stand your ground during a charge, you will eliminate easy enemies for good. With accurate time and good aim, along with the Pump-Action Shotgun’s faster rate of fire, it’s easy to eliminate an enemy at close range.
Kill Shot
If you can get the shot just right, this improvement for the Hunting Rifle almost promises victory against most normal Taken. Plus, it’s a great way to start a fight with a Hammer or Mirror Taken that isn’t ready.
When Kill Shot is used, it’s like having Saga aim assist turned on. As long as the eyes are on an enemy, the bullet will hit, and if a Source Point is visible, it will automatically move toward it.
More Bullets
Of all the guns in Saga, this Pistol reloads the fastest. However, running out of bullets at the worst possible time is still bad. According to its name, More Bullets significantly increases the weapon’s clip size by 50%. This means that you won’t have to reload at all during fights against normal Taken followers.
Most of the time, the easiest changes are the best ones. More Bullets is a great example of this.
Ready For More
Health is the only thing that is more important than bullets. Things that heal you take a while to use, so your current health bar is usually all you’ll get during a fight.
Ready For More makes you last longer by healing Saga a little when she dispatches an enemy with the Shotgun. Not only does this work well against many monsters, but it also saves your healing things over time. Buy this update right away when you can.
